Live Performances vs. In Studio

Now, I'm all for live performances, but I'll be honest, some people just can't perform live! Example, one my of all time favorites, Amy Winehouse, sucks really bad, when she "performs" live, I don't know why, possibly the drugs, yeah, most likely the drugs, but still, she needs to get her shit straight. Now one person, that I'd rather hear live is John Mayer, yeah, he sounds great on record, but his live performances are nothing to compare to.
